Have contour or foundation powder, the elastic band, small scissors, spray adhesive, a melt band, mirror, and wig-safe glue remover within reach.
How to Install Your OwnScalp Braided Wig
Follow these steps in order. Avoid tightening the Invisi Drawstrings before the wig has been centered. Correct positioning comes first; security comes after.
Put On Your Wig Cap
Start with your natural hair braided, wrapped, or otherwise flattened close to your head. Pull a thin wig cap over the hair and smooth it from the front toward the nape. Make sure there are no folds or bulky areas underneath.
A flat foundation helps the OwnScalp base sit closer to your head, making the visible scalp and braid sections look more natural.
Tint the Lace and Install the Elastic Band
Before putting the wig on, lightly apply contour or foundation powder to the underside of the lace. Choose a shade close to your scalp tone and build the color gradually. The goal is to soften the contrast between the lace and your skin without coating the braid roots.

Finish the Lace With Powder and Adjust the Invisi Drawstrings
Check the hairline and visible scalp areas after removing the melt band. If some lace still appears lighter than your skin, lightly add contour or foundation powder only where needed.
Finish by adjusting the Flexi-Fit Invisi Drawstrings. Tighten them a little at a time until the wig feels secure. Stop once you have a stable fit—the drawstrings should fine-tune the cap, not create pressure around the ears, temples, or nape.
How to Style Your OwnScalp Braided Wig
Once your installation is secure, you can change the braid direction without reinstalling the wig. The realistic scalp-like construction makes simple repositioning especially useful because moving the braids can expose different areas of the parting.
Sweep groups of braids toward the left to change the silhouette. Move several braids together instead of pulling individual roots sharply sideways.
Shift the braids toward the opposite side and arrange them gently with your fingers while keeping the lace base flat.
A loose ponytail or half-up look can keep the braids away from your face. Avoid extremely tight styles that pull the hairline backward.
How to Remove Your OwnScalp Braided Wig Safely
Because spray adhesive is used during this installation, removal should begin with a wig-safe adhesive or glue remover. Never pull bonded full lace directly away from your skin.
Apply the Remover Along the Hairline First
Begin at a section that has already loosened. Support the lace with your fingertips and lift only the released edge.
Resistance means the adhesive has not fully softened. Stop, apply more remover, and give that area additional time.
Do not pull the unit away from your skin by force or use the long braids as handles. Strong pulling can stretch the lace and stress the braid roots.
Continue across the hairline in small sections. Once the front has released completely, loosen the elastic support and Invisi Drawstrings before removing the rest of the cap.
