At Luvme, we understand that receiving a new wig can bring both excitement and questions. Some customers may notice slight shedding, dryness, a light smell, or feel unsure about fit, quality, or what to do next. As part of the Luvme team, we want to reassure you that many of these concerns are common and easy to understand. In this guide, we will walk you through what is normal, what may need attention, and how our return and exchange support can help.
Luvme Return and Exchange Policy
At Luvme, we want every customer to shop with confidence. If your order does not work out, our team is here to help you understand the return, exchange, and refund process. Below is a simple overview of our current policy, including key timelines, product conditions, and what to expect when requesting support.
Is It Normal for a New Wig to Shed, Feel Dry, or Have a Smell?
Yes, this is normal in some cases. Because Luvme wigs are made with real human hair, a light scent may be present when first opened. For colored wigs, the smell can be slightly stronger due to the professional bleaching and dyeing process, which is similar to salon treatment. The hair may also feel very smooth and shiny because it goes through a mild acid treatment to improve softness and gloss. In addition, slight shedding at first is normal. These are common conditions and do not usually indicate a quality issue.
How Can You Tell If There Is a Real Quality Issue?
While some minor concerns such as a light smell, slight shedding, or a very smooth feel can be normal for a new human hair wig, there are also cases where a wig may have a genuine quality issue. In general, a real issue is one that does not improve after basic inspection or gentle care, or one that clearly affects the wig’s appearance, structure, or wearability. You can check the following signs:
Excessive shedding
A few loose hairs are normal, but heavy shedding after very light combing or handling may indicate a problem.Strong odor that does not fade
A light processing smell can be normal, especially for colored wigs. However, if the odor is unusually strong and remains after airing out or washing, it may need further attention.Visible lace or cap defects
Torn lace, loose stitching, uneven construction, or damaged combs and straps may affect how the wig fits and wears.Incorrect length, color, or density
If the wig clearly does not match the product you ordered, this may be considered a product issue.Severe dryness, tangling, or rough texture
If the hair feels overly dry, tangles badly, or looks damaged from the start, and does not improve with basic care, it may require review.
What Should You Do If You Are Not Satisfied With Your Wig?
If you are not satisfied with your wig, please contact Luvme Customer Care as soon as possible. Before requesting a return or exchange, do not cut the lace, dye, bleach, wash, or alter the wig, as unused items in original condition are required for after-sales review. We recommend checking your order details first and preparing clear photos of the wig and any issue you would like us to review. Once our team receives your message, we will assess the situation based on the product condition and our return and exchange policy, then guide you through the next steps as quickly as possible.

If the issue remains, please contact Luvme Customer Care with your order information and photos. Our team will review the case and advise you on the next steps.
Can You Exchange a Wig If You Ordered the Wrong Length, Color, or Size?
Yes. If you ordered the wrong length, color, or size, you may request a return or exchange by contacting Luvme Customer Care directly. Our team will review your request and assist you with the next steps. Please note that all return and exchange requests must meet the requirements of Luvme’s official return and exchange policy.
